I am a woman of unwavering faith, a wife, a mom of three, a first girl child, and an IT professional who left in search of greener pastures. I believed hard work alone would create a better life. Instead, survival slowly separated my family. I worked extremely hard, lived on little sleep, and spent more time chasing income than being present with my children.
My youngest spent most of her days in childcare, and many nights I picked her up already asleep. I missed milestones I can never get back. Eventually, the exhaustion and guilt broke me, and I made the painful decision to send her to relatives who could be more present. The silence that followed was devastating.
